Dr. James Hurley was unanimously appointed as the 16th President of Tarleton State University in August 2019 by The Texas A&M System Board of Regents. His leadership has propelled Tarleton to new heights of academic excellence, research innovation, and community impact.
As a first-generation college graduate and the grandson of coal miners, Dr. Hurley understands the transformative power of education and advocates tirelessly for educational access and opportunity for all students.
